Why is sidewalk snow removal important for my property?

Unshoveled sidewalks are both a safety hazard and a legal liability. In most municipalities in Summit and Stark Counties, property owners are required to clear public sidewalks adjacent to their property within a set number of hours after snowfall. Leaving sidewalks icy or snow-covered exposes you to fines and liability if someone falls.

Do you clear sidewalks for single-family homes?

Our sidewalk snow removal is a commercial service. We clear sidewalks for businesses, office and medical buildings, HOA communities, apartment complexes, and condo associations, usually as part of a commercial snow contract that also covers plowing and salting. We do not currently clear sidewalks for individual homes.

Can you clear sidewalks for HOA communities or multi-family properties?

Yes. HOA sidewalk clearing is one of the most common commercial sidewalk services we provide. We service the full perimeter of common areas, walkways leading to building entrances, and any other pedestrian paths that need to be safe and accessible for residents.

How quickly do you clear sidewalks after a storm?

Sidewalk clearing is coordinated with your plowing service so both are completed in the same visit or within a short window of each other. Commercial properties with safety or liability requirements receive priority sidewalk clearance, often during overnight hours so paths are clear by business open.

Do you apply salt to sidewalks after clearing?

Yes. We apply salt or ice melt to sidewalks after clearing as part of every sidewalk service. This prevents the rapid re-icing that commonly occurs after the snow is removed and is especially important in shaded areas or on concrete that tends to stay cold.
